Mural Installation Is a Different Skill Set

Standard wallpaper hangs in repeating strips — the pattern resets every panel and small alignment errors correct themselves. Murals don’t work that way. A panoramic mural is one continuous image split across 8, 10, or 14 panels. If panel one is off by 3mm, panel fourteen is a disaster.

We panel-plan every mural before cutting a single strip. That means measuring the wall, laying out the panel sequence on paper, identifying the visual center of the image, and calculating every seam position so the most prominent part of the image — the focal point — lands exactly where it should.

We’ve installed murals from Spoonflower, Photowall, Murals Wallpaper, Rebel Walls, Minakani Lab, and custom-printed sources. Each supplier prints slightly differently. We know the quirks before we show up.

What We Install

  • Panoramic Murals — single continuous images across multiple panels. Landscapes, cityscapes, botanical prints, abstract designs. We’ve done floor-to-ceiling murals on 14-foot walls and precise cuts around doorways, trim, and architectural features.
  • Large-Format Photo Prints — custom photography printed to scale and applied as wallcovering. These require precise color and scale calibration and exact panel alignment.
  • Custom-Designed Papers — working with your designer or directly from files you supply. We can advise on bleed, panel sizing, and substrate choices before you send anything to print.
  • Feature Walls & Accent Panels — single bold panels behind a bed, sofa, fireplace, or staircase. Mural placement on a feature wall requires centering the image composition, not just centering the paper.
  • Commercial Murals — restaurant dining rooms, hotel lobbies, office feature walls, retail environments. We work after hours and on weekends to minimize business disruption.
  • Kids’ Room Murals — forest scenes, maps, celestial prints, custom characters. We use only non-toxic, low-VOC pastes and primers in children’s spaces.

Our Mural Installation Process

Every mural project follows the same sequence — no shortcuts, no guessing.

1. Wall Assessment — we check for texture, moisture, alkalinity, and surface condition before anything else. Textured walls get skim coated. Plaster walls get primed with an alkali-resistant primer. New drywall gets sized. The wall has to be perfect before the mural goes up.

2. Panel Layout & Planning — we map the panel sequence on paper, identify the visual center of the mural, and mark the wall before cutting any panels. On asymmetric walls (with doors, windows, or architectural features), we plan cuts in advance so no seam falls in an awkward position.

3. Test Paste — we paste a small section first, check adhesion and the substrate’s reaction to moisture, then proceed. Different papers — non-woven, fibre, vinyl-coated — each behave differently when wet.

4. Hanging & Alignment — panels go up plumb, aligned precisely at every seam. We use a laser level throughout. Every seam is pressed with a felt smoother and rolled with a seam roller after the paper relaxes.

5. Trim & Cleanup — precision cuts at ceiling, floor, trim, and any obstacles. Paste residue cleaned from the wall surface. Final walkthrough with you before we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you help with mural sizing and ordering?

We can advise on exact wall dimensions, panel sizing, and bleed requirements before you order. We don’t design murals but we can tell your printer exactly what size and format to produce for a clean installation.

What if my mural arrives with a printing defect?

We inspect all panels before hanging. If there’s a defect, we document it and advise you to contact your supplier before we proceed. We never hang a defective panel and hope for the best.

Can you install murals on textured or plaster walls?

Yes — but textured walls must be skim coated first. We include wall prep in every mural quote. Hanging a mural over texture makes every imperfection visible through the paper.

How much does mural installation cost in Denver?

Mural installation starts at $350–$500 for a standard accent wall and scales with panel count, wall prep requirements, and ceiling height. We provide free written estimates after measuring the wall.

How long does mural installation take?

A standard feature wall mural (8–10 panels) takes 4–6 hours including wall prep. A full-room mural with complex prep can run 2 days. We’ll give you an accurate time estimate before we start.
